Pay Model PrinciplesGainsharing plans and their pay models must support and help drive business performance. Gainsharing plans are not "add on systems" or "sideline programs." They must be part of, and support, the business objectives.

The Pay Model Must:
  • Reflect the philosophy and objectives of your company

  • Reward achievement of property-wide business performance measurements

  • Represent those costs over which employees have some degree of influence or control

  • Establish a base line performance

  • Be based on historical and/or budgeted cost and output data

  • Set performance targets that are obtainable with "stretch"
